Kawan Visa ("we", "us", "our") operates the Kawan Visa UNI and Kawan Visa School mobile applications and website at kawan-visa-pro.netlify.app. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Data We Collect

Email address — used for account login via magic link (one-time password). We do not collect passwords.
Visa dates — passport expiry and visa expiry dates you enter. These are stored locally on your device only and are not sent to our servers.
AI chat messages — if you use the Ask Kawan AI feature (Pro only), your questions are sent to our server to generate a response. We do not store chat history on our servers after the response is delivered.
Payment information — processed entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. We only receive confirmation of successful payment.

2. How We Use Your Data

To authenticate your account and manage your subscription status
To provide AI-powered visa guidance (Pro subscribers)
To improve the app experience through anonymous analytics

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following services, each with their own privacy policies:

Supabase — authentication and user profile storage (supabase.com/privacy)
Stripe — payment processing (stripe.com/privacy)
Anthropic — AI chat responses (anthropic.com/privacy)
Google Analytics — anonymous usage analytics (policies.google.com/privacy)

4. Data Storage and Security

Your email and subscription status are stored securely in Supabase (hosted on AWS). Visa dates and checklist progress are stored locally on your device using browser storage. We use HTTPS for all data transmission.

5. Data Retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion, we will remove your data within 30 days.

6. Your Rights

You can:

Request a copy of your stored data
Request deletion of your account and all associated data
Opt out of analytics by using browser-level tracking prevention

7. Children's Privacy

Kawan Visa is designed for university and school-age international students. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us data, please contact us for immediate removal.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
